He spent 500 bucks on that oil painting, that was lying in the corner of the shop. The lady in the picture was too beautiful, she was full of enthusiasm, like a fully blossomed flower. With her rosy cheeks and lovely coal-black eyes, followed by her neatly trimmed moon shaped eyebrows and her enchanting smile; every single trait of hers attracted him deeply.
He hung the painting in his bedroom, and would admire the girl in the painting every single day.
From time to time, he realised that the girl's eyes seemed to move. His eyes then rested upon her slim figure, and she will look at him with her soft, seducive and pretty eyes, causing him to fickle.
One day, his friend visited him, and caught a glimpse of the painting at the corner of his eye.
"Hey! Look at this!" that friend pointed at the scenery of the painting and yelled.
He was puzzled at his friend's reaction. "Why the sudden reaction? It was only the mountains! Are you mad!?"
"Not just mountains, my friend! The trees behind them were not trees; they were people from different era, and were all male!"
His friend's expression cannot be read.
Really? he wondered. The painting was in his house for a long time, why hadn't he realised this?
He took out a magnifier and examined the mountains...
It was true! The mountains in the picture were painted very, very lightly. No trees nor grass; just a group of guys, a group of guys from different era: Some were wearing ancient clothing, some with a suit, majority were wearing jeans. The clothes they wear were different; but they had the same horrified expression in their face.
"Those people look like they had met something terrifying, don't you think?" his friend spoke like a professor 'looking for clues of the case of the mysterious painting'. "This painting's really unusual!"
That night, he stared at the painting. His eyes rested on the girl, then on the men.
Why did the artist use those men as the background of the painting, and how are they related to the beautiful girl?
His mind was filled with question marks.
Just then, the girl smiled softly again, her seducive eyes had intrugated him this night. He forgot the men, and touched the lady's porcelain face, then he slid his finger from face to neck, neck to chest...
Her lovely smile curled into an ugly frown.
He didn't notice the sudden change; he was too busy thinking about fantasies between him and this beautiful girl.
Her face turned dark and eerie.
A monstrous, hairy hand made out of the painting.
He came back to his senses and screamed.
In a second's time, he reappeared behind the mountains in the painting.
And the night turned silent.
